Arvind Choudhary OAKVILLE MAYORAL CANDIDATE 2026

Oakville is one of the great towns, but HEADING THE WRONG WAY

Contributions

Thank you to our donors.

This campaign ran on its neighbours: individuals only, capped low, no corporate money and no union money. The 2026 election is over, and the campaign is no longer accepting contributions.

The 2026 campaign lawn sign: Elect Arvind Choudhary for Mayor of Oakville — Vote for change. Freeze the tax, end closed-door politics, keep Oakville’s character.

Your receipt is what matters now.

Every contributor received a receipt showing who contributed, the date and the amount. Keep it: it is what you use to claim your 50% rebate from the Town.

Missing a receipt, or think a detail on it is wrong? Email info@arvindchoudhary.ca or call 905-973-8213 and we’ll sort it out.

Arvind enrolled in the Town’s rebate program

Contributed $100 or more? Get 50% back from the Town.

Arvind has enrolled in the Town of Oakville’s Contribution Rebate Program (By-law 2025-050), a voluntary program that only applies when a candidate signs up for it. Because this campaign is enrolled, eligible contributors get half their contribution back from the Town.

  • Who qualifies: eligible electors residing in Oakville, contributing their own money within the legal limits.
  • What qualifies: each contribution of $100 or more is eligible for a 50 per cent rebate. Gave $200, get $100 back. Gave the $1,200 maximum, get $600 back.
  • What doesn’t: contributions from corporations or trade unions (already illegal), and contributions by a candidate or their family to their own campaign.
  • Deadlines: rebate applications must be submitted by June 28, 2027; the Town issues rebate payments in September 2027.

Rebates are paid by the Town after the campaign files its financial statements and clears the Town’s compliance requirements. Keep your contribution receipt, as you will need it to apply. Full program details: oakville.ca: campaign contributions.

Things contributors reasonably ask.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

No. Municipal contributions don’t qualify for the federal political tax credit. But because Arvind enrolled in the Town’s Contribution Rebate Program, eligible Oakville contributions of $100 or more get 50 per cent back from the Town. See the rebate section above.

Will my name be public?

Yes, if you contributed more than $100. Candidates must file a financial statement after the election listing contributors above that threshold, and those filings are public documents.

I think I gave too much.

Tell us. We track contributions against the limits and would rather return money than keep something we shouldn’t have. Call 905-973-8213.

This page is a plain-language summary, not legal advice

Campaign contributions in Ontario are governed by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. We have set out the rules as they apply to a candidate for head of council in Oakville, but the Act and the Province’s candidate guide are the authorities, and rules can be updated.

If anything here is unclear, or you want to confirm a detail before contributing, contact the Town of Oakville Clerk’s Office or read the Province’s 2026 candidates’ guide.

Thank you

Small cheques from real neighbours.

Every lawn sign, every leaflet and every hall booked for a community meeting came from what Oakville residents put in. Thank you.
